On his last day in office, the President has an intimate dinner with Chelsea Manning, the transgender U.S. Army intelligence analyst whom he imprisoned for espionage–and whom he can still pardon. This interactive play takes a deep dive into the hopes African-Americans, trans people, and whistleblowers are left with as Barack Obama leaves the White House.
Private Manning Goes to Washington will be performed at the 2016 Edinburgh Fringe Festival prior to its limited New York run.
